Counselling (Registered Provisional Psychologist)
A registered provisional psychologist is a highly trained and qualified mental health professional who provides a range of psychological services to individuals, couples, families, and groups. They have completed their academic training in psychology but work under the supervision of a fully licensed psychologist to gain the necessary experience and training required to become licensed. Their role may involve conducting assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing therapy to help people manage and overcome their mental health challenges. Overall, registered provisional psychologists play a critical role in promoting mental health and well-being in our communities.
Counselling (Registered Psychologist)
Registered Psychologists tailor therapy sessions to an individual's needs, goals, and preferences. They employ various evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or mindfulness-based therapy, to assist clients in addressing mental health concerns. Psychological sessions can be conducted one-on-one, in group therapy, or through teletherapy. The goal of a Registered Psychologist is to provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, identify the root cause of their issues, and develop skills and strategies to manage symptoms, improve overall well-being, and achieve their goals.

This includes strategies to encourage first words and combining words in early communicators, as well as using accurate grammar in more experienced communicators. SLPs can also provide support for receptive language skills, such as understanding concepts and following directions. Other areas SLPs support include speech sound delays/disorders, motor speech disorders, apraxia, stuttering, using alternative/augmentative communication (AAC), social communication and pre-literacy skills.
Counselling (Mental Health Therapist)
A mental health therapist is a trained professional who helps individuals navigate the challenges of mental illness. They work with clients to develop coping strategies, manage symptoms, and identify triggers for their mental health issues. Additionally, therapists provide emotional support and guidance to clients as they navigate difficult life circumstances. They may use a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as talk therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy, to help clients achieve their goals and improve their mental health. Ultimately, mental health therapists play a critical role in helping people improve their mental well-being and lead fulfilling lives.
